National Indigenous Ministries Council

The National Indigenous Ministries Council of the Presbyterian Church in Canada has been connecting Indigenous ministries across the country since 1994. It brings together ministers, directors, and representatives from ministries including Anamiewigummig Fellowship Centre in Kenora, Winnipeg Inner City Missions, Saskatoon Native Circle Ministry, Mistawasis Memorial Presbyterian Church, Place of Hope Indigenous Presbyterian Church, Edmonton Urban Native Ministry, Hummingbird Ministries, and Cedar Tree Ministries on Vancouver Island. The denomination's commitment to confession, truth, healing, and reconciliation runs through all of it, funded through Presbyterians Sharing.

Project Director John Carr participates with the council as a member at large, coming in as Helper and Learner. The work is practical and quiet. Technology support, media production, communications, digital tools that let ministry leaders stay focused on relationships and the ongoing work of reconciliation rather than getting stuck on infrastructure.

The JS Project

Through this project Journey Society has taken on a managed service provider and creative direction role for various Winnipeg based Indigenous ministries. Offering video and story based content production for each ministry, social media management across multiple accounts, and helpdesk support covering the full range of technology needs that keep these organizations running day to day.
